Background:
The Borzoi is a sight hound that developed in the Russian steppes to run down
and bring down quarry over the open plains. Also known as the Russian
Wolfhound, these dogs possess powerful physical tools that allow them to do
their job with distinction. This is a dog meant to have a lot of room to
run and makes an ideal companion for the avid hunter in plains areas or farm
country. This does not, obviously, make a good apartment dog.
Personality:
The borzoi is a docile and loyal dog at home. However, some
representatives of this breed have been known to show a streak of
stubbornness. Given enough space to run, they make excellent companions.
