Background:

Descended from hounds found on the tombs of Egyptian Pharoahs, the Greyhound is the fastest dog on the planet.  In the past, the breed was used to hunt boar and other wild game that it would just run down and bring down without a break in stride.  This hunting instinct is still strong in this breed and it may find it irresistible to go after even domesticated animals such as cats and chicken.  Today it is used mostly as a racing dog on the dog tracks.

Personality:

The Greyhound is a sensitive, courageous dog, but somewhat aloof from family and strangers alike.  It does not make a good apartment dog as it requires a lot of running space to run in daily.
