Background:
The Spinone Italiano is an ancient Italian breed still rare in the US.
A member or AKC's Miscellaneous class, this breed has served man for hundreds of
years. Beneath its somewhat scruffy exterior, the Spinone is a sturdy dog
built with strong muscle and bone that can stand up to the rigors of a day in
the field. This dog has an almost religious following among those familiar
with it.
Personality:
A sociable, affectionate dog, this makes an excellent hunter in the field and
a delightful companion at home. This breed requires a lot of exercise, so
if it is to be kept in an apartment or small house, regular walks and runs are a
must.
