Background:

The Spinone Italiano is an ancient Italian breed still rare in the US.  A member or AKC's Miscellaneous class, this breed has served man for hundreds of years.  Beneath its somewhat scruffy exterior, the Spinone is a sturdy dog built with strong muscle and bone that can stand up to the rigors of a day in the field.  This dog has an almost religious following among those familiar with it.

Personality:

A sociable, affectionate dog, this makes an excellent hunter in the field and a delightful companion at home.  This breed requires a lot of exercise, so if it is to be kept in an apartment or small house, regular walks and runs are a must.

Color White; white with orange or brown markings; orange roan; brown roan

Body Muscular body with broad, deep chest
Tail Follows the line of the croup, carried horizontally or down
