Background:

The American Eskimo Dog was accepted for registration by the AKC in 1994.  A lively, intelligent dog, it has had a colorful past serving as anything from a sled dog to a circus performer.  Completely white in color with cream marking allowed, this is an attractive dog that comes in 3 sizes: the toy, miniature and standard.

Personality:

Often described as a loving, intelligent dog, the American Eskimo Dog is a wonderful companion dog, and loves nothing more than to spend an afternoon playing in the park or yard with the family or an evening, curled up by the fireside carefully watching everyone come and go.  This breed makes an excellent apartment dog.
