Background:

Descended from the English Cocker Spaniel, the Cocker Spaniel is a compact, aesthetically pleasing dog with a luxurious coat that makes it one of the most popular breeds in the US.  Though it started out as a sporting dog, and still retains a strong sporting instinct, its primary use of late has been as a companion dog.

Personality:

It is an alert, gentle dog with a sweet, cheerful personality.  It is an excellent companion for the entire family and it is absolutely great with children showing a great deal of patience with them.

Coat Medium length with undercoating for protection
Color Solid Black, Any Solid Color other than black (ASCOB), Parti-Colored.
Head Rounded with broad, deep muzzle
Ears Long, well feather, fine leathered
Eyes Dark brown, slightly almond shaped
Body Deep chest with a slightly sloping topline
Tail Docked, in line with the topline
