Background:

WIth its origins in England, the Curly Coated Retriever is one of the oldest retriever breeds.  Through its indomitable spirit and willingness to work in inhospitable conditions, the curly has earned a special place in the hearts of dedicated hunters of small game and birds.  This fearless dog will not hesitate to penetrate the thickest brush and brave the coldest waters to retrieve the bag.

Personality:

The curly is a balanced dog with uncommon agility and endurance that is often necessary to perform the job it was bred for.  Despite its hardy background, this is a dog with a gentle mouth and can often retrieve a wounded bird or animal quickly and with no damage.  This also makes this dog an energetic and intelligent companion that can be a great friend to the whole family.
