Background: The English Springer Spaniel is a symmetrical, strong sporting dog. This was the breed that first emerged as a hunting companion centuries ago. The English Springer Spaniel was brought to the US in the 1700s and has enjoyed a long period of popularity since that period so much so the the parent club for the breed was founded in 1800. This breed was recognized by the AKC in 1902. This breed is more powerful than the other spaniel breeds due to its body structure. This dog is very good at searching and retrieving game, especially in wooded areas. Personality: As with all the other spaniel breeds, this dog also makes an excellent companion due to its mild nature. It will adapt to apartment life with the caveat that if enough exercise is not provided, the dog will tend to become overweight. The English Springer is also very good at learning and make good obedience candidates. Physical Appearance:
