Background:
The Field Spaniel shares its origin with the Cocker Spaniel. In many
cases, there was mingling of the breeds to eliminate undesirable traits that
cropped up from time to time. It is a larger dog than most of the spaniels
and like the Cocker, it is an excellent hunting companion and even better friend
at home. It is a tranquil dog that is great around all members of the
family.
Personality:
The Field Spaniel is a agile hunter in the field and a gentle companion at
home. As with other hunting breeds, the Field Spaniel needs to be worked
often to keep them in shape and to work off any excess energy.
