Background:

Recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1906, the ancestry of the Welsh Springer Spaniel dates back to several millenia.  Being a hardy dog exclusively bred for hunting, it went through centuries without changes.  On the hunting field itself, the Welsh Springer Spaniel has a tendency to wander and can benefit from early training.
