Background:
Classified as a terrier breed, the Airedale Terrier is a multi-faceted dog,
used in hunting, guarding, police work, during war time as a messenger dog and
as a treasured companion at home. The largest of the terrier breeds, the
Airedale is a compact dog that does well even in an apartment.
Personality:
The Airedale is a lively, enthusiastic dog that has become very popular as a
companion dog. With a rough coat that requires some maintenance, the
Airedale is an attractive pet for high energy people accompanying them on hikes
or bike rides outdoors and doubling as an excellent guard dog at home.
