Background:

With its beginnings in Australia, the Australian Terrier was recognized by the AKC in 1960.  This is small, sturdy dog was bred to be primarily a ratter and companion.  This has become a popular companion dog lately and is almost never used for any other purpose.  As it is a good barker, this makes an excellent alarm dog in an apartment or home.

Personality:

This is a lively, energetic breed with limitless curiosity happiest when accompanying the master and his family wherever they may go.  This makes an excellent family pet and alarm dog.

Color Various shades of blue, blue and tan, solid sand or solid red
