Background:
With its beginnings in Australia, the Australian Terrier was recognized by
the AKC in 1960. This is small, sturdy dog was bred to be primarily a
ratter and companion. This has become a popular companion dog lately and
is almost never used for any other purpose. As it is a good barker, this
makes an excellent alarm dog in an apartment or home.
Personality:
This is a lively, energetic breed with limitless curiosity happiest when
accompanying the master and his family wherever they may go. This makes an
excellent family pet and alarm dog.
