Background:

A breed with a very unique appearance, the Bedlington Terrier looks very much like a wooly lamb.  However, the purpose of the breed was to serve as a ratter among mines in England.  Over the last few decades, using selective breeding, breeders have actually changed this breed from an aggressive, pugnacious breed to an affectionate, devoted dog.

Personality:

An affectionate, likeable dog, the Bedlington has gained popularity both for its looks and its adorable character.  They do adapt well to apartment life and enjoy life, satisfied with an occasional walk and run in the park.  The coat for this breed does require regular maintenance and grooming.
