Background:
The Norfolk Terrier and the Norwich Terrier were originally considered
varieties of the same breed until recently. The Norfolk has dropped ears
and the Norwich has pricked years. Bred to go to ground after
fox and vermin, this is a hardy breed that could hold up to inclement
weather well. With the passage of time, due to its size and attractive
temperament, this breed has passed bag and baggage into the ranks of the
companion dog. It makes an excellent apartment dog, eager to play with the
family and to go for a romp in the park.
Personality:
An intelligent, alert, friendly dog, it makes an ideal companion and friend
at home. Fortunately for the breed, it is not quite widespread or too
popular yet, so it does not suffer from some of the puppy mill problems faced by
other breeds.
