Background:

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel shares a common ancestry with the English Toy Spaniel.  It has a well developed sense of smell that enables it to work as a good hunter for short hunts.  The most popular toy dog in England, this breed has always been meant as a companion dog and a lap dog.

Personality:

A friendly, laid back dog, this makes an ideal companion for the family.  This dog is wonderful with children due to its calm and non-aggressive nature.  This is also an ideal apartment dog.

Color Blenheim, tricolor, ruby and black & tan

Tail Docked or carried happily; constantly in motion
