Background: The Pug descended from the ancient Chinese breed Lo-Sze or Foo Dog. Brought from China to Holland and eventually England, the Pug was refined there becoming a favorite companion and lap dog of nobles and the royal family. With its short, cobby body and its endearing looks the Pug has steadily become more popular in the US also. Personality: A clown at heart, the Pug loves nothing more than to play around with the adults and children of his family. Having been bred to be a companion dog, this breed possesses a calm disposition, rarely becoming overly excited. Due to its short muzzle, the Pug is susceptible to breathing ailments and must not be overworked to the point where it pants uncontrollably. Physical Appearance:
