Background:
The Bullmastiff dates from the mid 1800s bred to be a guard dog first and
foremost. It has also served as a tracking dog and law enforcement dog
among other things. A powerfully built dog, it could very easily subdue
any intruder, man or beast. Due to this ability, the Bullmastiff is also
popular as a body guard the world over.
Personality:
At home the Bullmastiff is a wonderful companion and guardian, comporting
itself well with all members of the family. As it has a tendency to gain
weight, frequent walks are necessary to keep in shape.
