I also have an Old English Mastiff. And your right those dogs are part mastiff however you can't judge the mastiff because it's has part of whatever is involved with those dogs. Try and explain to your neighbors why they are considered and known as "Gentle Giants." They should keep in mind that it also depends on how you raise a dog which will affect the way they turn out.
